"Just picked up my wife from Morristown Memorial Hospital, and she showed me her "bling" that she got and read me the letter you included...I just want you to know how sweet this is what you are doing for the sick and bed ridden. You have brought a smile to many people's faces that are sick and possibly dying. Sometimes we forget to thank people for the smiles they put on our faces...Thank you! My wife is doing great thanks to the great staff at MMH!

What a STUNNING September afternoon this Labor Day is!!! I so love writing these newsletters! I am sitting here enjoying our backyard while our goofy grand-DOGS run around playing as though they are busy little kids...and I am LOVING my day! I didn't mean for this newsletter to be so long, but we have so much good stuff to share! So PLEASE don't delete...do sit and read! Thank you!

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month
cappichino   As most of you all know, we lost my Mom, Ruth Brands-McLuskey, to Ovarian Cancer in 1991. We wish none of you the same. Ovarian Cancer is silent, it  whispers...please make sure you listen!

The August 1st Baseball and Ovarian Cancer Awareness Event held at the TD Bank Ballpark with the Somerset Patriots was a huge success! 7,557 people were in attendance! The NOCC distributed about 1,700 bags of life saving, empowering information on Ovarian Cancer symptoms to women who attended the event! If they saved one life that night, they accomplished their mission!
Thank you all for going out and supporting raising awareness!

Amazing Turnout At The "George Sloane Victory Blood Drive" !
cappichinoMore than 100 donors came to the New Providence Firehouse on August 22, 2009! The Red Cross collected 83 units of blood and 6 donations of platelets! More than 290 lives were saved because of the loving generosity of all who attended! Speaking of generosity, the donors were not only generous to the American Red Cross, they were generous to Operation Bling too! Between straight donations and Bling sales, Operation Bling made $980.00 that day in honor of George Sloane! Approximately 40 people can be "blinged" in George's honor! And speaking of giving blood, after being scared out of our heebe-geebies, Bill and I did just fine! We are going to make donating blood a regular part of our giving! The Sloanes held a gathering at their home afterwards to thank all who came...Bill and I stopped by...I consummed more than my fair share of Laura Sloane-Delia's deviled eggs!!! Yummm!
