BLINGING

Patients can be "blinged" at any time during their cancer journey... when they are first diagnosed OR during  treatment when they need an encouraging moment on a rough day OR they just got good news OR to celebrate their last day of treatment - their graduation. Women, men and children cancer patients are blinged in area hospitals, oncology centers and homes.

Patients are blinged by our volunteer Bling Angels, a varied bunch: oncology social workers, chemo nurses, radiation techs, patient liaisons or hospital volunteers specifically designated for blinging. To oncology departments in area hospitals or cancer centers, OBF donates leatherette boxes filled with sterling silver cubic zirconium earrings, pendants, bracelets and rings.

Each Bling gift is presented in a faceted lucite box, enclosed in a white organza pouch. Included is a copy of the OBF story and a laminated Bling Card with the OBF mission statement and inspirational poem.

Patients love the special presentation of their Bling gifts!
